+ Possible shop re-location (03/06/2008 - 19:00:56)
+ fab vintage lighting to come... (31/05/2008 - 19:25:48)
Well folks, very exciting news... there is a very real possiblity that pineapple ice bucket retro may be re-locating to Brigton!
I am teaming up with a fellow retro fan to form a shop full of goodies sometime in the not so distant future (hopefully) all the usuals will feature and even more! details will be posted when i know more... very exciting.
Well, today i have spent lots of money... whilst working in the shop and trying to make it...
I have bought over 20 vintage lights, inc table lamps, shades and light fittings... lots of scandinavian and italian bits... and they are all yummy, so after a good clean, they will be appearing on here and my ebay pages...
Keep em peeled retro lovers... let there be light!! xx
Another news flash for all you ceramic fans out there...
The launch of the fantastic new book, on J&G Meakin pottery was held at 'The Wedgwood Visitor's Centre, Balaston Factory, Stoke-on-Trent on 7th October 2007.
It was a great success, with copies of the book flying out, and the author Chris Marks signing them as quick as he could....
There was particular interest from the Japanese market, who purchased many of the fab coffee sets Chris was selling.
Even i'm getting hooked on the fantastic, loud 1970s designs, and suggest snapping it up now, as i believe it will be the next Midwinter!
The book can be purchased through my website now...
Just thought i'd mention to all my Meakin and Kitsch china fans (who don't know) I am currently writhing a book on the subject!
Hopefully it should be out next year, and if your interested, please feel free to email me, and i can keep you informed...
So far i have over 37 Alfred Meakin designs and many other kitsch pieces from Beswick to Washington, and all that's in-between.
Many of the pieces i buy for the book, will end up being sold thro here, and sometimes thro ebay, so keep em peeled! and of course i can try and track down any other designs you may require.
stay retro folks! soph x
